"What, pray tell," asks editor Robert Price, "is wrong with sequels?" This remarkable stewpot of original stories inspired by H.P. Lovecraft answers that question decisively Not a thing is wrong with them! Indeed, everything is deliciously right.

Lovecrafts' fictional world, after all, is well worthy of emulation, so it's no surprise to find it generating sequels like these tales. You see, it's rather like natural selection What is successful in the gene pool survives to copy itself into thefuture, and what we have here is the welcome spectacle of Lovecraft's fictional DNA replicating itself with a vengeance. Darwin would be proud. Lovecraft would be mystified. Readers will be pleased.

So climb abour the creaky bus, take that sinister ride to Innsmouth and Arkham and other unspeakable places, and see how good a job these contemporary writers have done of proving that old Lovecraftian maxim true" That is not dead which can eternal lie, and with strange aeons even death may die."

--- Donal R. Burleson, author of H.P. Lovecraft A Critical Study, Lovecraft Disturbing the Universe, and Wait for the Thunder.

Worlds of Cthulhu eBook Robert M Price Reviews

I love horror anthologies, I read about 2 a month for my podcast at PGttCM.com, I also love books edited by Robert M Price.
This is a double win for me, this is a collection of some of my favorite mythos authors. Price not only edits the book, provides a wonderful intro, but he also introduces each story, and passes on some knowledge about the Mythos. I also love the illustrated insets for this book(awesome job Tim Kirk).
If you love the Cthulhu Mythos as much as I do, and want to expand your reading base from just HP Lovecraft and other old timers, then I suggest you pick up this book and become acquainted with the newer authors of this myth cycle.
I finally got around to reading “Worlds of Cthulhu” edited by Robert M. Price and published by Fedogan & Bremer in 2012. I purchased it at the 2013 NecronomiCon and Darrell Schweitzer, one of the contributors to the book, signed it. Very much enjoyed his story. Overall excellent collection of stories, as expected by Dr. Price and Fedogan & Bremer. My only compliant – too short! It included only 11 tales with two authors contributing 2 stories each. Peter Rawlik provides two stories that I have already read but are still great fun to each, particularly “The Journal of Thomas Gedney" - one of my favorites. Will Murray also contributed two stories; I have not previously read these and they were great fun. I am more familiar with Mr. Murray’s scholarly work on Lovecraft and not his Lovecraftian fiction. Is there a collection of Mr. Murray’s Lovecraftian tales? If so I would purchase it! Overall a good collection of fiction, just wish it had some more stories in it.
After a seven year absence, Fedogan & Bremer returns with their fourth Robert M. Price edited anthology of original Lovecraftian fiction (one story was publised in a webzine). Featuring new cover art by the great Gahan Wilson and two different full-spread interior endpages plus an endpiece illo and table of contents decorations by Walt Disney Studios designer and small-press illustrator Tim Kirk. This is a mixture of old pros like Gary Myers, Richard Lupoff, Will Murray, and Darrell Schweitzer and newer talent such as Pete Rawlik, K.M. Tonso, and Rafe McGregor. Whether you like your tentacles squamous or icthyic, there is something here for all Lovecraftians.
Hello, this collection of tales is one of the best yet. The authors did a great job of using the time period and their descriptive writing was excellent. Damn good stuff. Thanks.
Fun book with good stories.
